The Story of Compass Carts
Meet the Founder
It began with a frustrating hunting trip. When I, Todd Hanson, grew tired of repeatedly unloading and reloading heavy gear, game carts, or equipment every time I headed into the field.
That spark of inspiration led to a patented utility cart system that mounts directly to a standard 2-inch trailer hitch receiver, featuring a gliding rack for effortless side-loading and unloading without ever detaching the cart from the vehicle.
What started as a game-changer for outdoor enthusiasts ideal for hunting, fishing, camping, biking, tailgating, and more quickly proved its versatility far beyond recreation.
Professionals in the trades, construction, landscaping, and other hands-on fields embraced it for hauling tools, materials, and supplies with ease and efficiency.
Based in Rochester, Minnesota, with durable powder-coated aluminum construction, rugged 20-inch wheels, a folding handle, and thoughtful anti-rattle features,.
Compass Carts has evolved from a single inventor's "wild bet of an idea" into a growing business that's simplifying real-world hauling for everyone from weekend adventurers to hardworking pros allowing more time for the things that matter most.
